The Common Quiet examines the delicate relationship between the individual and the cultural systems that surround and entangle daily living. The paintings are built of layers of forms and colors, interplaying with one another and sometimes completely overshadowing each other. The resulting struggles are muted, subdued and tempered with much of the movement happening just below the surface. Throughout the series small forms pepper the color fields, sometimes obscured by larger forms and grids. They find themselves at the mercy of the  surrounding, opportunity and occasion filtering the viewers ability to see them.

The exhibition opened at The Eric Schindler Gallery in 2018.
