Woodblock Monoprint on printmaking paper
Paper size approx. 4x4in matted in an acid-free white mat to 8x8in
Unframed
My collections of monoprints are created from a library of woodblock plates. Each print is different in its overlapping and combining of plates, as well as its colors and ink density. I love watching how the plates interact with one another and change as they are paired with different plates in different colors. The shifting hues and tones of each print come from the patina of ink adhering to the plate after previous prints. The more plates on a monoprint, the more difficult the print is, with more chances for a stray mark, a mis-registered plate, or simply a bad overlap. Some prints can have up to 12 plates interacting and engaging with one another. Each one of my monoprints is a beautiful record of a moment captured in color and texture.

Each print is unique, printed on acid-free printmaking paper using a mix of Cranfield Calligo Inks, Akua Intaglio Inks, and Speedball Professional Relief Inks. The print is shipped in a protective plastic sleeve. This small print is matted in an acid-free white mat that will fit into a standard 8x8in frame. (It is currently unfrmaed, framed images are for illustrative purposes only)
Every effort is made to make sure the color is true on your screen; however, your screen may show color slightly different from the actual print. All paper is a soft white (regardless of any shifting of color on your monitor).
