This will make a great difference in your life
Acrylic paint and vintage paper clippings on canvas
38×24 inches, gallery wrapped edges, unframed
Embedding in this painting is a promise from a 1920’s advert in a woman’s magazine- “This will make a great difference in your life.” The advertisement goes on to explain that this one thing will change you’re life for good. The stark wording seems laughable now, but it’s not much different from what we see today. This piece is in my series looking at the history of roles and expectations of women in American cultural in the past century. The arching forms and interlocking layers combine into a landscape of blues and ochres etched deeply with marks.
The piece is currently upstretched for international shipping, but can be stretched upon purchase. It will be gallery wrapped with edges showing the artist’s marks.
