Orange you glad I didn’t say patriarchy?
Acrylic Mixed Media on cradled wood
Screened printed images of cut out paper doll clothes litter the initial layers of this piece. The one dimensionality of paper dolls and the strict fitting format mirror the previous roles of women in our society. Atop these layers are grids and words forming the foundation of an abstracted still life. A table set with common domestic objects. And in a vain attempt to make light of an insipid societal system – I titled it.
